BTS RM Calls Out HYBE? “Please Have Affection for Us”

Hello, ARMY and K-pop fans!
We have some major updates from BTS, who have finally returned as a full group after completing their military service.
On December 21, 2025, all seven members—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—gathered for a highly anticipated Weverse Live session. While the atmosphere was generally filled with excitement for their upcoming comeback, leader RM made some significant and somewhat heavy remarks regarding their agency, HYBE, which are currently making headlines.
Here is a breakdown of what happened during the live stream, why RM might be frustrated, and what to expect for their 2026 comeback.

1. “Make 2026 BTS’s Year”: The Comeback Promise
The members kicked off the live stream by discussing their future plans. With everyone discharged as of June 2025 (Suga being the last), the focus is entirely on their next chapter.
- J-Hope: “Isn’t 2026 a very important year for us?”
- RM: “Let’s make 2026 the year of BTS. Something really big is coming.“
This confirms that the group is gearing up for a massive return, likely involving a new album and a world tour, signaling the end of their long hiatus.

2. RM’s Meaningful Message to HYBE
However, the mood shifted slightly when RM suddenly addressed their agency directly.
“I wish our company would have some affection for us.” — RM
The other members reacted with a mix of laughter and confusion. Jimin burst out laughing, while J-Hope asked, “Why? Is there a reason?” Jin also chimed in, asking, “Doesn’t the company care about us? They do a lot for us.”
RM responded candidly, “You know I don’t usually say things like this. I just don’t know. I wish they would take care of us and embrace us a little more.”
RM’s comments didn’t come out of nowhere. He has been expressing frustration over the last few weeks regarding the delay in their activities.
- Frustration over Delays: On December 16, RM posted, “I want to comeback so bad it’s driving me crazy. I really hate this year-end season.” He urged HYBE to announce the comeback date quickly, implying internal delays.
- The “Lost” Half of 2025: Fans have been asking why the group was inactive in the second half of 2025 despite completing their service. RM explained on December 6, “We didn’t want to waste this time either. There was a reason we decided not to be active in the second half of the year, but I can’t tell you everything. I don’t have the right to say it.”
- Mental Toll: He confessed to contemplating the future of the team (disbandment vs. hiatus) thousands of times but chose to stay together for the members and fans. He also revealed suffering from insomnia recently due to the pressure.
It appears there may have been scheduling conflicts, internal reorganization, or strategic disagreements with HYBE that prevented the group from meeting fans sooner, causing stress for the leader who is eager to perform.
3. BTS is Ready to Roar in Spring 2026
Tho still members’ bond remains unbreakable. They emphasized that their decision to stay together is rooted in their love for each other and the fans.
With the military hiatus officially over, BTS is preparing for a full-group comeback in Spring 2026. RM’s “something big” comment suggests a project that will make up for the 3-year gap since their last concert in October 2022.
The members are mentally resetting and putting their all into preparation. As RM said, they are ready to reclaim their throne.
